Frequently asked questions Q: What is the cost of services? A: Actual costs are determined by the individual's needs. Staffing patterns, level of assistance, and program involvement will determine final costs. Budgets are presented with room and board costs separate from service and program costs. Q: Where do people go after completion of your program? A: Our goal is to assist individuals in returning to their home community. As part of programming, the transition process will be initiated with the referral source early on. Staff from CCI will be available to physically assist with this transition by visiting the provider at their location, assist in training staff, etc. Q: Who is appropriate for these services? A: We do not focus specifically on diagnosis or labels in determining who is appropriate for services. We have worked with individuals who have diagnoses in the areas of developmental disabilities, mental health issues (including Borderline Personality Disorder), AODA issues, Traumatic Brain Injury, and individuals with multiple diagnoses, including behavioral issues. Many of the people we see are fairly independent in their ability to maintain personal cares, but may require verbal cueing and staff presence to complete tasks. Cognitive abilities are impaired, in that individuals usually misinterpret information, react inappropriately to situations, or demonstrate more predator tendencies (waiting for opportune times to act our with specific staff or situations). Some individuals demonstrate inappropriate sexual tendencies and thinking and interpretation abilities, and providing modifications or accommodations for issues that are disability oriented and will not respond to behavioral intervention. The goal of all programming it to create a level of skill and interaction that will allow the person to be safe in the community, and to be able to interact with the world around them. This may require staff presence at varying levels for a very long time, but would allow for community based programming versus institution or correctional placement. |
